TWD: Peanut Butter Crisscrosses

This recipe came at a perfect time. The Girl and Boy started school last week (finally!), and this was the treat that was waiting for them when they came home. They were pretty pleased with Dorie for the recipe and Jasmine (of Jasmine Cuisine) for choosing these. I even got a few hugs for making them.

Simple cookie to make. I always have the ingredients on hand to make peanut butter cookies. Except when I don't, so I used chopped cashew nuts instead of peanuts. This is maybe what made me only like the cookies and not love them. Needed more peanut flavor. I'm not sure that they needed to be rolled in the extra sugar.

Having said that, I don't actually happen to have a favorite peanut butter cookie recipe. I may just have to make this one again with peanuts. I don't think anyone here would stop me.

I had no nuts to add to mine.

I wish I had though.

These were so good that I'm sure your family wouldn't mind all sorts of experimenting with the recipe.

Someone else made theirs with honey roasted peanuts and that sounded fabulous. I'm sure the Boy and Girl loved them!

No extra nuts here either. I didn't even have crunchy pb. But I made due and they are a pretty good pb cookie. Yours look like a perfect pb cookie.

Cashews certainly sound good. I used to feel the same way when my kids finally went back to school.

Yay for school starting! (Just kidding)

I happen to think the cashews would add quite an interesting element to the cookies.

I'm sort of with you--I always wish every peanut cookie I made had a little more peanut oomph. I guess I'm still searching for my ideal peanut cookie too.

This is not a peanut-butter loving household...I LOVE it, but for some reason, the guys aren't that big into it. That said, a fair number of these were eaten quickly, and they all disappeared, and I am fairly certain it wasn't just the company dropping by. Yours look great.
