I've been making a version of this nut cookie for years. Today I used almonds instead of pecans because they are what I had in the cabinet. I made a half batch, and it fit easily in my mini food processor. I chilled the dough for a couple of hours and then rolled and baked the cookies. I skipped the powdered sugar bath at the end. I guess, really, these are almond powder(less) puffs.
These are not at all photogenic.
While this was a yummy cookie, it won't replace my favorite pecan crescent recipe. Thank you Tia of Buttercream Barbie for hosting this week!

Mine weren't photogenic either - I just hid them in icing sugar. However, they were yum! I think photogenic is overrated - taste is what matters.
I loved these cookies too! They are so simple and so addicting. I ate way to many! Im glad you enjoyed this recipe. Im sure I 'll make them again and again!
What a great idea to make them in the mini food processor. They look delicious even if they aren't as photogenic as some desserts (nothing like taking pictures of cupcakes, I think!)
Ciao ! I envy your round babies !
I did almonds too and they were fantastic. Right-o on the photogenic-ness, or lack of.
lol - not photogenic by yummy! thanks for baking with me this week. take care.
So now I need to know about your pecan crescent??
I bet they taste delicious and that is all that matters. I had good intentions of making these but have not gotten to them yet.
They still look pretty good! I also used almonds and they were excellent.
Skipped the powdered sugar bath??? Are you kidding...these cookies are meant to make you messy. Actually, yours look quite good in their naked selves.
